Mangoes from Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Thane and Palghar districts of Konkan can be named as Hapus Mango. This has been achieved by the Department of Patents, Government of India.

The price of real hapus mango is always high. The price of Karnataka hapus mango is always cheap but the taste is very bad.
Characteristic of Hapus Mango
Hapus Mango has a special shape, it has no beak or tip, Hapus is never elongated, it is slightly round elongated. Mango peel is the skin that is plain, it is not rough anywhere, there are small holes of white flowers on the peel, it is thin skin, it has nominal fiber.
